Barboursville, Va. – April 16, 2024 – It is with heavy heart that we share the passing of our beloved stallion Cicera’s Icewater, due to colic complications. His loss is deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
During his career, the talented Holsteiner competed with team O’Connor and was successful in winning a CCI* in Kentucky and other events along with being ridden up to the Prix St. George level in dressage. He also qualified and competed in the 5-Year-Old YJC Finals at the Hampton Classic.
Cicera’s Icewater was by Corofino/Cor de la Bryere/Liguster from stamm 474a, and bred by Anke and Manfred Johannsen of Germany. He was approved in the United States in 2002 after becoming the highest-scoring stallion ever approved in the 25-year history of the American Holsteiner Horse Association. He received 53 bonit points along with being crowned the National Conformation Champion.
He was highly successful as a breeding stallion in both show jumping and eventing. Over the years, his offspring have been exceptional in the sport, with many going on to have successful careers. Cicera’s Icewater was truly a stallion for sport breeding but also produced top breeding mares.
We are deeply grateful for our team at Hyperion Stud, as well as Keswick Equine Clinic for their care and expertise over the years, and especially during his final hours. A special acknowledgment goes to Kelsey Hile, our stallion caretaker and handler, who has been a constant part of Icewater’s life over the last 10 years. As we shed farewell tears full of love and respect for Cicera’s Icewater we look forward to the continued success of his legacy through his offspring.
Farewell dear friend……..
